A netizen filed an online petition at Change.org calling to impeach the current Ombudsman of the Philippines, Conchita Claudio Carpio-Morales, due to being selective in investigating charges involving PNP Chief Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa and Sen. Leila De Lima The petition followed the Ombudsman’s decision not to probe Sen. De Lima’s involvement in the New Bilibid Prison drug trade during her term as the Department of Justice Secretary, instead deciding to launch an investigation regarding PNP Chief Dela Rosa’s all-expense paid trip to Las Vegas to watch Sen. Manny Pacquiao’s fight against American boxer Jessie Vargas
The Ombudsman previously told reporters that her office will not conduct investigation on De Lima’s drug trade involvement as they are all accusations without legal basis “Because lahat naman allegations itong mga ito. Wala pa namang lead talaga that would prompt us to initiate our investigation,” Morales said Bernie Cadao of Dasmarinas City, Philippines, filed the petition and concluded that Morales is being selective when it comes to handling cases such as the PDAF Scam, the Yolanda funds and the SAF44 incidence.
The petition has so far received over 800 signees.

Kris Aquino To Agriculture Secretary Piñol While They Were Discussing Corruption: 'Sec, hindi naman kami nagnakaw'
The entrepreneurs present at the Go Negosyo Summit held at the SMX Convention Center in Davao City were disappointed that President Rodrigo Duterte couldn’t make it to the gathering. Luckily, they were treated to some entertainment courtesy of the Queen of All Media in the Philippines, Kris Aquino, and Department of Agriculture Secretary Manny Piño Things got a little awkward during their exchange in front of the audience of the National Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Summit in Davao City. It started when Piñol gave a brief discussion on the state of abaca production in the Philippines.
Kris then then commended the secretary for doing a great job, as he stated that Php 50 million of the Php 100 million promised for abaca farmers to revive the industry were already released.  Piñol then answered her nice remarks by saying that it wasn’t really a difficult job because there was no corruption. Aquino responded jokingly with, "Sec, hindi naman kami nagnakaw,” much to the entertainment of the audience. Her quick response made her seem defensive in the eyes of her family’s detractors. The secretary quickly came to her side, saying that he did not mean anything bad by it and that he was only following the standards that were set by the Aquino administration. He also added that all corruption allegations against former-President Aquino were just rumors.
Upon hearing this, Aquino was delighted and said:
"I love you. And ako, now I'm seeing you're faster. Iyong secretary niya was slow. You're fast. Bongga!"

Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa yet again faces another issue after Senator Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao treated him to an all-expense paid trip to Las Vegas, Nevada to witness the senator's boxing match. Political analyst and Political Science Professor at De La Salle University Antonio Contreras however questions Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales' stance on the issue on a post on his Facebook page."Whatever respect I have for Conchita Carpio-Morales vanished! I am not expecting her not to investigate Bato. She should," says the prominent professor Although Contreras stands for the probe against the PNP Chief, he questioned why the probe against Senator Leila De Lima is taking its time despite many testimonies and evidences presented against her "But I curse her stance towards De Lima.
And I curse her for ignoring that Leni Robredo used a private helicopter for her travel once to Bicol," he added. The all-expense paid trip of Dela Rosa was deemed to be against the code of conduct for public officials basing on Republic Act No. 6713, the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees) and Presidential Decree No. 46, making it punishable for public officials and employees to receive, and for private persons to give, gifts on any occasion, including Christmas. However, Dela Rosa bravely claimed on Friday that he welcomes the investigation.
